New phone technology takes off

The last few months have seen the proper launch of WAP technology within the UK, bringing the Internet and mobile phones closer together. However entirely new web sites will need to be produced if firms are to take advantage of this technology. VTRAD has been monitoring the developments in this new field of IT and is pleased to introduce a new set of services to fulfil clients needs.
A WAP version of a web site is by no means a necessity for all firms. Given the rapid progress due to be made in this field, only certain businesses will need this advanced functionality but VTRAD can supply all the expertise necessary to create a high profile site at the cutting edge of the Internet. We can advise on how best to promote the site, draw visitors to it and maximise the benefits from having state of the art facilities.

VTRAD expands into Europe

VTRAD is continuing its strong expansion program by offering its services across Europe. VTRAD has been involved in European projects before, including the standard setting InfoCities project, but had previously contained its consultancy projects to mainland Britain. However having gained long term experience of the virtual office or "Virtuality", the company feels able to supply a quality service to clients without needing direct contact. VTRAD's use of this technique means that is able to provide a more cost-effective range of services for clients, without compromising on quality.
Director Ed Egan said, "I feel confident that we can continue to offer the same level of support as we can within the UK by use of modern communication advances. Obviously this will not be suitable for all projects abroad, particularly those that require a high level of hands-on management, but we are keen to think globally and offer our services to as many potential clients as possible."
VTRAD aims to have clients in half a dozen European countries by the end of the year. This expansion coincides with the news that the rate of growth for e-businesses in Britain is dropping while European countries continue to seek an advantage in the virtual world. VTRAD aims to capitalise on new firms entering the market and the high rate of the Euro by setting up a base in Amsterdam in the near future. This multi-lingual environment will enable the company to better support its clients, both in Europe and domestically.

VTR&D unveils an new evolution in e-commerce

VTR&D, the research and development wing of VTRAD, announced a new e-commerce solution package, targeted at small to medium sized enterprises. VTRAD has been providing services and software to SMEs for over three years, many of which were developed by VTR&D but had yet to produce a stand alone retail package. But now the design has been completed for a new type of e-commerce solution.
Stuart Wildig, director of VTRAD Ltd, had this to say; "It is one of the founder's primary beliefs that every firm can benefit in some way from the Internet, whether it is opening a new outlet to their customers, improving their supply chain or simply as a means of raising their profile. However the cost and expertise needed has been prohibitive so far, to the extent that far too many businesses will not consider going online. The 'free' solution model relies too much on technical expertise from the user and is unlikely to survive in the long run. Existing packages have been designed to be implemented by consultants and web design companies, raising the costs even higher. VTRAD wants to offer an alternative approach."
The new package will be developed in London by some of VTRAD's most highly rated consultants, who have long term experience dealing with clients e-business solution needs. The finished product will be available from early 2001, with selected VTRAD clients receiving beta copies first. VTRAD is confident that its first launch onto the product market will be a great success, promoting both global e-business and the UK technology market.
